I am Dr. Thomas Castellano and I have been offering classes for Doctors, Nurses and Physician Assistants interested in administering Botulinum Toxin Type A (BOTOX® Cosmetic by Allergan).  This course is intended for practitioners already familiar with general medical injection techniques who wish to learn about BOTOX® Cosmetic for the first time or advancing and refreshing their skills. The original, four-hour personal lecture was conceived out of my love of teaching and the needs of practitioners who want training in these techniques.  I have taught physicians, nurses, and physician assistants from all over the United States.  I stress a thorough understanding of the medicine, its uses and limitations.  I demonstrate safe and effective techniques. 

This is a complete course, covering ten chapters in a DVD (which can be navigated like a DVD movie) that you can watch in your home or office.  A companion booklet accompanies the DVD.  This course covers everything you will need to know, and includes some lesser-known hints and tips about the medicine and your practice.  Avoiding risks, minimizing complications and explaining a pricing strategy are just three of the chapters in the program.  Anatomy, Pharmacology, injection sites and post-injection care, are explained in detail.  An examination is included to help guide you through the material.  A bibliography is also included.

This course is only intended for medical professionals already practicing basic medical injections.  You will need to complete a legal statement and agreement.   The state medical board where you practice has guidelines about who can and cannot inject medicines.  Your malpractice insurance company will also help you with their rules of handling this medicine.  The running time of the DVD is about one hour, but you will probably spend over two hours on the information, taking notes, reviewing and completing the examination.  CME credits are not currently available.  Please let me answer questions by sending me an e-mail or by writing to me at:
